Reviewing

GUIDELINES FOR REVIEWS

Reviews of books, assessments and other new resources in Speech & Language Therapy in Practice help practising therapists and students decide how to spend their limited budgets. Please consider the questions that readers would want to ask:
• is it relevant to everyday work in the clinic?
• will I find it useful at my stage of experience?
• what makes it different from other resources?
• is it easy to read / use?
• will I enjoy reading / using it?
• is it value for money?

All this information can be summed up in around 100 words in one to two paragraphs for books (around 350 words for software / resources and up to 750 for assessments). Use a punchy, courteous style and avoid long, formal sentences. The review will be subject to editing.

Reviews should be typed and if possible e-mailed as a file attachment (or sent on a CD). Please note your name, address and brief biographical details as you would like them to appear.

Please let the editor know if you are having difficulty completing the review by the agreed date.
