THE EDITOR
Speech & Language Therapy in Practice is owned, published and edited by speech and language therapist Avril Nicoll. Avril qualified in 1988 from Jordanhill College in Glasgow and practised as a generalist therapist in Dundee and Aberdeenshire. She was Councillor for Student Affairs for the UK professional body the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists from 1990-1993 and was seconded one day a week in 1995 to coordinate the College's Golden Jubilee.  In 1996 she became clinical editor of what was then known as Human Communication magazine, buying the title in 1997 from Hexagon Publishing.

SUBSCRIBERS / CONTRIBUTORS
The support of readers and authors is central to the success of Speech & Language Therapy in Practice. Several readers act as informal advisers to the editor, and their input is gratefully acknowledged. The regular contribution of 'Here's one I made earlier' by Alison Roberts is also much appreciated.

THE LIFE COACH
Jo Middlemiss is a qualified Life Coach with a background in education and relationship counselling. She writes the popular 'Winning Ways' slot and offers subscribers a complimentary half-hour telephone coaching session (for the cost of their call).
